The gameplay sequence begins with a game reconstruction of Dokdo before the voyage moves into the reconstructed game world.

This unofficial game reconstruction is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Government of the Republic of Korea.

The Dokdo facts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Korea describe two main islands, Dongdo and Seodo, plus 89 surrounding islets.

Choose an island, cross open water and clear its defending fleet. Keep enemies beside your cannons while you wait for each reload.

Gather fish near captured islands or carry goods between markets. Spend what you earn on repairs, ship parts and assistants.

The reconstructed game with a shared sea

This site keeps the original sailing, fishing, markets, upgrades and combat. The shared sea adds nearby captains, short messages and ship emotes to the browser version. These additions belong to the reconstruction and were not part of the original 2017 game.

Your progress is saved in local browser storage for this site. It does not follow you to another browser, device or web address. Use Copy Save when you want a separate backup.

Getting started

Your first trip

  1. Press Play and enter the captain name that other browser players will see.
  2. Press and drag over the water to steer. Double-click or double-tap a direction to keep sailing after you release.
  3. Approach the marked island, defeat its defenders and collect the capture reward.
  4. Dock at an island you control to repair, trade, upgrade and prepare for the next crossing.

Before you play

Can I play on a PC?

Yes. Use a current desktop browser. The site checks browser support before it enables Play.

Is DOKDO free here?

Yes. The browser reconstruction is free to play.

Do I need an account?

No. You choose a public captain name for the shared sea, but you do not create an account.

Where is my progress saved?

The game saves to local storage under this site address. Clearing site data removes that save. Private browsing and storage restrictions can also prevent it from surviving after the tab closes.

How do I back up my save?

Open Copy Save in the game and keep the copied text somewhere safe. Paste Save can restore that backup or move the same save between the browser and Android versions.
